A man in his 30s who threatened a dog owner with a weapon after a dispute over a barking dog in an apartment complex in Nowon-gu, Seoul, was sentenced to prison.
According to the legal community on the 21st, Lee Chang-won, Chief Judge of Criminal Division 11 at the Seoul Northern District Court, sentenced A (33) to 8 months in prison on charges of special intimidation.
A is accused of threatening the victim with a weapon after a dispute arose due to B's (44) dog barking on October 26. After B called the police following an argument, A came out of his house with a weapon. When the police officers who arrived after the report told him to "put down the knife," A threatened B while holding the weapon.
The court explained the sentencing, stating, "The criminal responsibility in this case cannot be considered light, and during the resistance to the arrest, one police officer was stabbed in the hand with the knife. Considering that the victim is petitioning for severe punishment, it is inevitable to impose a punishment commensurate with the defendant's guilt."
