Hanam City Health Center Selected as an 'Excellent Institution for Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention'

Hanam City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyun-jae) announced on the 19th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the ‘2024 Gyeonggi-do Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Prevention and Management Project Evaluation’ hosted by Gyeonggi Province and received a commendation from the Governor of Gyeonggi Province.

This performance evaluation reflected various indicators such as ▲chronic disease registration and management ▲education and promotion for early detection of hypertension and diabetes patients ▲performance in preventing and managing diabetic complications.

Hanam City received high praise for actively conducting regular education on hypertension and diabetes to prevent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, hypertension, and diabetes, which are among the top 10 causes of death in Korea, and for hosting a ‘Special Lecture for Citizens’ by inviting professors in the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease field for citizens.

In detail, Hanam City visited senior centers and subway stations to open counseling booths called ‘Knowing Your Vascular Numbers for the 20s to 40s Generation’ and conducted consultations, as well as operated an online education center called ‘Godang e-Gongbubang’.

Additionally, to improve the dietary (nutritional) management skills of registered hypertension and diabetes patients, education was conducted at a permanent education center, and efforts were made to improve lifestyle habits for chronic disease prevention.

An official from Hanam City Public Health Center stated, “We received a commendation from the Governor of Gyeonggi Province in recognition of our sincere efforts in carrying out the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease prevention and management project,” and added, “Hanam City will continue to operate programs for the registration and management of chronic disease patients in the region to provide abundant information so that local residents can lead healthy lives.”
