"Merry Christmas, my friend."
A story has been shared about an elementary school student who anonymously donated 300,000 won in cash to help single-parent families like his own. According to Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, on the 18th, a middle-aged man and a boy who appeared to be in the lower grades of elementary school came into the Imsil-eup office the previous afternoon and left an envelope containing a Christmas card and six 50,000 won bills.

The two, who are father and son, left a brief message saying, "Please help single-parent families like us," and quickly left the office. The Christmas card contained a message that read, "Please deliver Christmas gifts to the children of single-parent families!" It was reported that the donation was the son's allowance, which he had diligently saved without spending the money his father gave him.
The office staff considered verifying the identities of the father and son through internal CCTV but decided to respect the donor's wish for anonymity. The 300,000 won donation will be designated and entrusted to single-parent families living in Imsil-eup through the Community Chest of Korea. Choi Byung-kwan, the head of Imsil-eup, said, "We are grateful for the donation given by this little angel who gathered a beautiful heart to help neighbors," and added, "We will ensure the donation is delivered well to the struggling single-parent families as intended by the donors."
Netizens who heard the news responded warmly with comments such as "Such a beautiful heart," "Will grow up to be a wonderful adult," "Admirable," "A warm dad and a lovely son," "Donation is truly about the heart," "Nice heartwarming news at the end of the year," "After seeing only chaotic news, this warms my heart," "Baby, Merry Christmas too," "I should donate as well," and "Learning from the child."
Recently, another person extended a warm hand to single-parent families for Christmas. It was Professor Kwon Young-chan of Oikos University in the United States, a former comedian. On the 14th, he stepped up as a tall uncle for single-parent families by donating cash and goods worth about 6 million won for the 'Single-Parent Family Christmas Event.' Professor Kwon stated, "We plan to host a Christmas buffet for 100 single-parent families, but I heard that the meal expenses were severely insufficient. So, I decided to support 2 million won in cash and about 4 million won worth of goods as gifts for single-parent families."
