Victory in Foursomes, Four-ball, and Singles Matches at Event Tournament

Top stars of the PGA Tour secured a decisive victory over LIV Golf members.

The PGA Tour team, consisting of Scottie Scheffler (USA) and Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), defeated the LIV Golf team of Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka (both USA) at the Crypto.com Showdown event held on the 17th (local time) at Shadow Creek Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the six-hole fourball format (where each player plays their own ball and the better score on each hole counts for the team), they won by 3 holes with 2 holes remaining. In the following six-hole foursomes format (where two players alternate shots with one ball), they won by 1 hole. In the final singles match, Scheffler secured victory by leading Koepka by 2 holes with 2 holes remaining.

McIlroy, who had vowed to avenge his loss to DeChambeau at the US Open last June, made crucial putts at key moments, while Scheffler, true to his world number one ranking, led the team to a comprehensive win with almost no mistakes. On the 2nd hole that day, an incident occurred where a tee shot by DeChambeau went significantly off course and struck Scheffler's father, who was watching the match.
