Role as an Information Exchange and Cooperation Platform

Honam University (President Park Sangcheol) announced on the 18th that the “Honam University Chinese International Student Alumni Association,” which will serve as a platform for mutual information exchange and cooperation among alumni who graduated from the university and are now active in China, has officially launched and begun its activities.
The launch ceremony, held on the 17th at the Daotongyiyi conference room of Hebei Academy of Fine Arts in China, was attended by Kim Deokmo, Dean of the Graduate School at Honam University, Zhang Jianmin, Executive Vice President of Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, Wang Jie, Director of Academic Affairs, Zhen Yalei, Dean of the School of Sculpture and Public Art, Jiang Xingdang, Dean of the School of Plastic Arts, Du Chen, Vice Dean of the School of Plastic Arts, Meng Xiangzhen, Director of the Lacquer Painting Education Office, Professor Gao Yanhui, and Han Yu, Office Manager, among other officials.
Since enrolling its first Chinese international student in 2001, Honam University has produced over 4,000 undergraduate and 1,000 graduate alumni. These graduates are now leading Korea-China exchange and development across various sectors of society, working as central and local government officials, university professors, key national institutions and public corporations, and Korean companies.
Zhang Jianmin, Executive Vice President of Hebei Academy of Fine Arts and a doctoral alumnus of Honam University, said in his welcoming remarks at the launch ceremony, “With the establishment of the Chinese International Student Alumni Association, we will strengthen the alumni network, host academic forums, and faithfully serve as a platform for smooth information exchange and cooperation between our alma mater and Chinese graduates.”
Kim Deokmo, Dean of the Graduate School, congratulated the launch in his congratulatory address, saying, “I congratulate the launch of the Chinese International Student Alumni Association, which encompasses alumni across China, and I will do my utmost so that the small seed sown today can bear great fruit.”
