[Special Stock] SOS Lab Faces Ban on Chinese LiDAR Exports... Operating Profit to Increase 40-Fold in 3 Years

SOSLab is showing strong performance. Due to the conflict between the United States and China, LiDAR has been included in China's export ban restriction list. Securities firms' analysis that this is an opportunity for SOSLab to expand its global market share appears to be influencing the stock price.

As of 9:25 AM on the 18th, SOSLab is trading at 11,280 KRW, up 14.4% from the previous day.

Samsung Securities analyzed SOSLab as the only LiDAR company globally capable of achieving high profitability.

Researcher Lim Eun-young from Samsung Securities explained, "SOSLab has internalized core component design technology for LiDAR miniaturization," adding, "It can be applied not only to Level 2+ and Level 3 autonomous driving but also to various industries such as robotics, control, smart cities, and defense."

He continued, "By possessing algorithm technology that removes data noise and errors, SOSLab has overcome the limitations of LiDAR, which is heavily affected by weather," and added, "It has advantages of being small, lightweight, and low-power, allowing installation in various locations, and because it is embedded and not exposed to external environments, its durability matches the lifespan of cars and robots, lasting over 10 years."

Researcher Lim emphasized, "SOSLab started with the goal of developing autonomous driving LiDAR but succeeded in expanding its customer base from infrastructure application to autonomous driving, robotics, and semiconductor equipment." Major applications include ▲North American automakers ▲Hyundai Motor's robot MobED ▲semiconductor wafer transport robots ▲airport outdoor parking lot control ▲industrial safety and security infrastructure.

Furthermore, he analyzed, "It is necessary to consider an average annual sales growth rate of 100% and a 40-fold growth in operating profit from next year through 2027," adding, "There is a high possibility of providing momentum by turning profitable in the third quarter of 2025."

It is estimated that sales will reach 35.3 billion KRW and operating profit 1 billion KRW next year. Compared to this year's estimates, sales will increase by 118%, and operating profit will turn positive. By 2027, sales are expected to reach 144.3 billion KRW and operating profit 44.3 billion KRW, with an operating profit margin of 30.7%.

Researcher Lim also explained, "Many companies have gone bankrupt due to high interest rates and delays in autonomous driving development," and said, "Chinese companies HESAI and Robosense dominate 60% of the global market, supported by the fastest spread of autonomous driving in the Chinese market." He emphasized, "Due to the export ban on Chinese LiDAR companies, SOSLab has an opportunity to expand its market share."
