Hwaseong City Hosts '2024 Hope Hwaseong Awards'... 90 Citizens and Officials Honored

Jeong Myeong-geun Mayor "Starting Special City Status Next Year, Journey Toward Bigger Dreams"

On the 17th, Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province held the '2024 Hope Hwaseong Awards' at Hwaseong SINTEX, inviting about 200 citizens.

Now in its second year following last year, the 'Hope Hwaseong Awards' is an event to express gratitude and celebrate individuals who have brightened Hwaseong through active activities in various fields of city administration throughout the year.

At the event, certificates of commendation were awarded to 90 citizens and public officials who promoted Hwaseong, including exemplary citizen awards and commendations from higher institutions. Additionally, various celebratory events such as a gratitude video screening and performances by citizen and children's choirs were held.

In his commemorative speech, Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun of Hwaseong said, "This year was a meaningful year as Hwaseong prepared for a new leap forward ahead of its designation as a special city," and evaluated, "We achieved remarkable results in various fields including economy, society, culture, and sports." Mayor Jeong added, "The launch of the special city next year will be a journey toward even greater dreams."
