Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 17th that it held the ‘2024 Senior Employment Performance Report Meeting’ at the Pocheon City Hall auditorium on the 16th.

This performance report meeting was organized to share the achievements of the senior employment projects carried out throughout the year and to explore the direction for next year’s projects.
The event was attended by about 120 people, including Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon, Im Jong-hoon, Chairman of the Pocheon City Council, city council members, Lee Joo-seok, Chairman of the Korea Senior Citizens Association Pocheon Branch, Park Geun-hwan, Director of the Pocheon Senior Welfare Center, representatives of senior employment executing organizations, participating seniors, and related personnel.
This year, Pocheon provided stable jobs to over 2,500 seniors, supporting their economic independence and expanding opportunities for social participation. In particular, the city successfully established a Pocheon-style specialized senior employment model by discovering various job projects that contribute to the local community.
In addition to the performance presentations, awards were given to outstanding senior employment participants, and case presentations sharing the experiences and achievements of participating seniors followed. Through this, the value and importance of the senior employment projects were reaffirmed.
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “The senior employment project plays an important role in promoting the economic stability of seniors and enhancing vitality and self-esteem in their lives,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to discover creative and sustainable jobs so that seniors can enjoy a happy and healthy old age.”
Building on this performance report meeting, Pocheon plans to further develop next year’s senior employment projects by expanding various jobs and customized programs to realize a ‘Happy Seniors Pocheon City.’
