On the 16th, Mayor Kim visited the 1st Corps and the 9th Division to deliver consolation money and encourage the soldiers. He plans to visit the 1st Division and the 25th Division on the 23rd and 26th, respectively. This visit was arranged to encourage the soldiers' hard work and listen to the difficulties of military life.
Mayor Kim highly praised the soldiers for carrying out their duties without wavering and maintaining regional stability even amid the special circumstances of the emergency martial law declaration and its lifting on the 3rd. He expressed deep gratitude, noting that this allowed citizens to continue their peaceful daily lives.
Kim Kyung-il, mayor of Paju City, said, “Thanks to the dedication of the soldiers, citizens were able to feel secure and focus on their livelihoods,” adding, “I sincerely thank the soldiers who are doing their best to protect the country even at the end of the year.”
Paju City continues to promote support projects for areas surrounding military units to strengthen cooperation with the military and foster mutual development. Every year at the end of the year, the city visits military units to deliver consolation money and comfort the soldiers for their hard work.
