Sinan-gun Family Center, Multicultural Families Participate in 'Anabada Market'

'Pre-Christmas' Theme... Practicing Sharing Together

The Family Center of Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 16th that it held an 'Anabada Market' on the 14th at the center, with 44 multicultural families with young children and over 130 participants.

Under the theme of 'Early Christmas,' the event was promoted with the meaning of Christmas gifts to break down the walls between families that are becoming disconnected due to internal and external factors and to rediscover the importance of family. Participants wore traditional costumes from their respective countries and, through experiencing each other's cultures, naturally engaged in physical affection and conversations within families to find the value of family.

On the day of the event, the Anabada Market was also held. Anabada, an acronym for "use sparingly, share, exchange, and reuse," involves sharing or exchanging goods and carries the meaning of conserving resources obtained from nature to protect the environment. All proceeds from this event were donated to the Sinan-gun Welfare Foundation to be used for socially vulnerable groups.

A resident living in Jaeun-myeon, Sinan, said, “It was fun to wear traditional costumes and take photos at the Christmas photo zone, play traditional games from each country like Nai Shop (Vietnam), compete in family relay jegi-chagi, and win prizes. I am grateful to the Family Center staff who worked hard on their day off to ensure all multicultural families had a joyful time.” He added, “I promise to create a happier family in the future.”

County Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “We will support various programs so that not a single multicultural family member feels excluded and can build a happy family, and we will actively support strengthening the emotional bonds between parents and children.”
