Participating cooperatives offered discounts of 20-30% on products with high consumer purchase rates, such as laundry detergents, coffee and other preferred foods, beverages, processed foods, and flour, thereby lowering consumer prices.

Sales of cooperatives participating in the Donghaeng Festival increased by 11.1% compared to the previous three months during the May Donghaeng Festival, and by 10.8% during the September Donghaeng Festival, based on average sales at the Small and Medium Distribution Joint Wholesale Logistics Center.

Song Yoo-kyung, chairman of the Korea Supermarket Cooperative Federation, said, “The consumption stimulation effect, which is the purpose of this event hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups during the economic downturn, is clear,” and added, “It is necessary to increase the budget for next year’s ‘Donghaeng Festival.’”
