Yoon Hee-sook: "The country is ruined by Lee Jae-myung's 6 Major Economic Evil Laws, They Must Be Withdrawn"

Regarding the National Assembly Testimony Act, "Corporate Intimidation"

Former People Power Party lawmaker Yoon Hee-sook asserted on the 15th that "the acting president should exercise the veto power to block the 'Lee Jae-myung's six major economic evil laws'."

On the same day, Yoon posted on her Facebook, "National normalization is urgent. Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, proposed a National Stability Consultative Body today. I welcome it. However, normalization will not happen by mere words," she pointed out. She continued, "If there is even a shred of sincerity, the Democratic Party's evil laws that shake the foundation of the country's economy must be reversed first."

She said, "Currently, there are six laws passed by the plenary session that the acting president should veto," adding, "The Democratic Party, which recklessly passed these evil laws, should admit their mistakes and quietly repeal the laws that have returned to the National Assembly."

In particular, Yoon raised the level of criticism toward the so-called 'National Assembly Testimony Act,' which passed the plenary session. The law stipulates that refusal to submit documents or appear as a witness is not allowed due to personal information protection or trade secret protection, and remote attendance via video connection is required even during overseas business trips or illness. However, there is considerable concern from the business community about the leakage of trade secrets, as the law mandates unconditional submission of materials classified as trade secrets if requested by a member of the National Assembly.

Regarding this, Yoon criticized, "This is a law that could only be made if the abuse of power gene is filled from head to toe and one is even ignorant," adding, "It demands that our industries and companies all lie flat and die for the sake of lawmakers' abuse of power." She continued, "This law amendment makes it impossible to refuse even trade secrets when lawmakers demand materials," emphasizing, "The greatest assets of companies are ideas and management know-how, and no one is unaware that the future of the Korean economy depends on this amid razor-sharp competition. Yet, this law, which competitors worldwide including China would applaud, was passed in one fell swoop."

She added, "The foundation of this is the lowly abuse of power mindset where lawmakers trample on the heads of the market and economy to reign supreme. It is corporate intimidation," and criticized, "Pretending to be pro-business while going around meeting businesspeople is exactly Lee Jae-myung-style hypocrisy."

Furthermore, she stressed, "The first step toward national normalization is to reverse the evil laws that cause domestic and foreign investors to undervalue South Korea and despair companies," urging, "Acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo must swiftly exercise the veto power. The Democratic Party should suppress their abusive instincts even for a moment during these difficult times and quietly repeal the laws."

Finally, Yoon called on the People Power Party, saying, "Now is the time to devote all efforts to national normalization," and urged, "Actively propose a ruling-opposition consultative body to the opposition, but start by withdrawing Lee Jae-myung's six major economic evil laws that are ruining the country."

Meanwhile, Lee Jae-myung held a press conference at the National Assembly on the same day and announced, "I propose the formation of a bipartisan National Stability Consultative Body, where the National Assembly and government work together for national normalization." He said, "Normalization of South Korea is urgent. The Democratic Party will actively cooperate with all parties to stabilize the government and restore international trust."

Regarding the economic situation, he emphasized, "More than ever, the government's active and proactive role is necessary. Financial and foreign exchange authorities should operate a 24-hour monitoring system without gaps," and promised, "As the largest party in the National Assembly, the Democratic Party will spare no bipartisan cooperation to resolve economic instability, including market stabilization and investment protection measures."
