Hwaseong Mubongsan Natural Recreation Forest Selected as 'Excellent Forest Recreation and Healing'

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi-do announced on the 13th that 'Mubongsan Natural Recreation Forest' located in the Middle East was selected as an excellent recreation forest in the forest recreation healing category at the '2024 Natural Recreation Forest Development Merit Awards' hosted by the Korea Forest Service, receiving the Korea Forest Service Commissioner Award.

The city explained that it received high evaluations for ▲contributing to the quality of forest recreation services and improving operational conditions to prepare for forest disasters ▲successfully conducting the first complex disaster response drill in Gyeonggi-do involving citizens, users, and related organizations, thereby raising safety awareness.

At the awards ceremony held the previous day at Maison Glad Hotel in Jeju-do, Choi Byung-joo, Director of Hwaseong City Park and Greenery Project Office, also presented an excellent case of strengthening proactive response capabilities to natural disasters and various safety accidents at Mubongsan Natural Recreation Forest.

Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, said, "We will continue to strive to make the natural recreation forest not only a space for rest but also a healing space within the city where everyone can feel safe and want to visit from all over the country."
