RaonPeople announced on the 13th that it has completed the establishment of an ‘AI Fire Monitoring Solution’ capable of early detection of even minor sparks and smoke within the Yongsan District Office parking lot, and rapid one-stop response by alerting the person in charge and the building, as well as linking with the fire extinguishing system. After a testing period, the full-scale project has commenced.
Yongsan District Office is the first autonomous district to build an AI fire detection system for major disaster prevention in its affiliated parking lot, along with proactive measures such as ▲installation of thermal imaging cameras ▲relocation of electric vehicle charging facilities ▲installation of mechanical fire suppression equipment ▲expansion of sprinklers in charging zones, establishing a physical safety system. It enables early detection of major disasters through artificial intelligence (AI) and one-stop response according to step-by-step manuals.
A RaonPeople official explained, “RaonSentinel is based on VLM (Vision Language Model) and recognizes situations in videos to make autonomous judgments. It goes beyond the conventional method of simply finding similar patterns from data learned by deep learning models, providing a higher level of monitoring service through generative AI that understands accident types and risk factors, analyzes situations, and reports violations according to checklists.”
The official added, “By utilizing this technology, AI supports 24/7 optimized safety management and major disaster prevention by accurately detecting not only fires but also leaks, heat point analysis, and other anomalies within the Yongsan District Office affiliated parking lot, and transmitting event information to the person in charge and related agencies. Starting with public institutions such as district offices, the scope of the project will be expanded to various sectors including apartment parking lots, large marts, department stores, and airports where electric vehicle fire incidents are frequent.”
Meanwhile, this project, conducted to respond to fires in the Yongsan District Comprehensive Administrative Town affiliated parking lot, strengthened the response capability to electric vehicle fires with advanced technology ahead of other local governments through the introduction of ‘RaonSentinel’ equipped with generative AI technology. Yongsan District Office explained that in addition to the fire monitoring AI solution, it will do its utmost to protect public safety and property through fire and disaster prevention measures such as electric vehicle suffocation fire caps, metal fire extinguishers, and sprinkler expansion.
