"Doing Our Best for the Development of the Steel Industry by Actively Responding to Changes"

On the 10th, Representative Uh Ki-gu of the Democratic Party of Korea (Dangjin-si, Chungnam, Chairperson of the National Assembly Agriculture, Food, Rural Affairs, Oceans and Fisheries Committee), who is a co-chair of the National Assembly Steel Forum, held a policy seminar titled "Changes in the Trade Environment of the Steel Industry and Response Measures" at the 2nd Seminar Room of the National Assembly Members’ Office Building.
This seminar was organized to assess the changes in the global trade environment for the steel industry and to discuss policy support measures for the sustainable development of the steel industry amid the evolving trade order.
The seminar was chaired by Professor Kang Junha of Hongik University.
Additionally, Lee Jaeyoon, Director at the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade, presented on "Global Supply Chain Restructuring and Its Impact on the Steel Industry"; Park Won, Executive Director at KPMG, presented on "Outlook for the US Trade Environment after the US Presidential Election"; and Lee Yoonhee, Research Fellow at POSCO Research Institute, presented on "Changes in the Steel Trade Environment and Measures to Stabilize the Domestic Market."
Representative Uh Ki-gu stated, "With rapid changes in US trade policy anticipated, the volatility of the external environment surrounding the steel industry will intensify more than ever," and added, "We will actively respond to changes in the steel trade environment to ensure that the steel industry maintains its competitiveness and continues to develop on the global stage."
