Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) Department of Herbal Medicine held the '2024 Herbal Medicine Department Anti-Aging Product Development Competition' on the 4th.

This competition was organized as part of the 2024 Specialized Program of the College Innovation Support Project to strengthen the major competencies and application skills of students in the Department of Herbal Medicine, and has been held annually since 2012.
All students of the Department of Herbal Medicine participated in this program, integrating the major knowledge learned through the regular curriculum to challenge the development of anti-aging products. This year, various products were submitted, including ▲ Ssanghwago and Jujuyak Doraji Jeonggwa ▲ Oriental brunch using Danggui pesto and Ssanghwa jam ▲ Head-refreshing Mugwort and Arborvitae leaf spray ▲ Jinpi Bugak for blood circulation ▲ Moisturizing bronchial Macmoondong Cheonggukjang and Bangpungnamul Barley rice table.
Park Kyung-soon, a first-year student in the Department of Herbal Medicine, said, “I only knew herbal medicine as medicine, but it was great to be able to apply it directly to diet, and I want to recommend it to others as well.” She added, “Studying herbal medicine in the latter half of my life feels like opening new eyes, and I am grateful to the university and the department.”
Dr. Seo Jong-hwan (Bowondang Herbal Pharmacy), who participated as a judge, said, “The students’ fresh ideas and sincerity stood out, and it was impressive to see a variety of highly complete products that I wanted to commercialize immediately.”
The Department of Herbal Medicine at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology is the only two-year program related to herbal medicine nationwide and is approaching its 20th anniversary next year. Currently, it is strengthening a specialized curriculum for adult learners, operating a systematic educational program that integrates traditional Korean medicine-based herbal teas, herbal dietary therapy, and herbal physical therapy closely related to daily life health care methods.
