The city first selected 10 businesses among food manufacturing and processing establishments that produce cakes, specifically those without prior administrative actions or inspection records, to conduct the inspections.
The main inspection items include ▲ compliance with hygienic handling standards such as cleaning and disinfecting manufacturing equipment and tools ▲ use or storage of raw materials past their expiration date ▲ compliance with labeling of manufacturing or expiration dates ▲ adherence to preservation and distribution standards for final products.
Additionally, for businesses using fresh flowers on cakes, the city plans to conduct focused safety management through residual pesticide testing. Based on the inspection results, administrative actions will be taken against violating businesses according to relevant laws, and measures such as recall and disposal will be implemented for hazardous products.
Jang Yeon-yi, Director of the Hygiene Division, stated, “We expect that this inspection will enable citizens to consume safe food during the year-end and New Year holidays,” and added, “We will strive to prevent food accidents by conducting pre-inspections on foods with increased demand during specific periods.”
