[December 7 National Assembly] 4 PM, People Power Party Finalizes Party Stance Opposing Impeachment

4:26 PM. News came that the People Power Party would vote against both the impeachment motion of President Yoon Seok-yeol and the Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act as the party line. Earlier, the People Power Party had decided on the 6th to vote against President Yoon's impeachment as the party line, but had not taken a position on the Special Prosecutor Act, which was to be voted on together.

Han Dong-hoon, the party leader of the People Power Party, did not attend the party members' meeting. Instead, personnel from Han's side have been coming and going frequently to relay the situation.


The Democratic Party of Korea finished their party members' meeting at 4:55 PM and entered the plenary session hall. The members shared the situation through the meeting. The Democratic Party is closely monitoring any changes in the stance of the People Power Party or the attitudes of its members. Ruling party members also suspended their meeting and entered the plenary session hall.


Meanwhile, Democratic Party aides were also advised to evacuate their offices for safety reasons. The Democratic Party Aides Council notified, "All aides are requested to gather in the Rotunda Hall by 4:30 PM, except for one essential staff member per office, to ensure safety during the voting process." It is interpreted that the Democratic Party is concerned about possible clashes in the Rotunda Hall. The aides are chanting "Impeach him."


The plenary session opened at 5 PM. At this session, the votes on the Kim Geon-hee Special Prosecutor Act and President Yoon's impeachment motion will take place.
