The Democratic Party of Korea appealed to the People Power Party on the 7th, urging them to "think beyond political gains and losses and consider the suffering of the people."
Cho Seung-rae, the chief spokesperson for the Democratic Party, held a press conference that afternoon and said, "Do not write a history of treason with the hands entrusted with the sovereignty of the people."
Spokesperson Cho emphasized, "Today's impeachment vote on Yoon Seok-yeol will be a scale weighing the conscience before the people and history," adding, "Today's vote will be an opportunity to confirm whether your pledge to uphold the constitution and prioritize national interests is still valid."

He further explained, "You may deceive your conscience momentarily with sophistry and collusion, but you cannot deceive the eyes of the people. South Korea now stands on the brink due to President Yoon Seok-yeol's crime of rebellion. Since the December 3 rebellion incident, the people's freedom and constitutional order are in jeopardy, livelihoods and the economy are in ruins, and even the trust of the international community is fading."
Spokesperson Cho asked, "South Korea is in an existential crisis, yet do People Power Party lawmakers truly intend to betray their conscience and the people and leave this dire situation unattended?" He raised his voice, saying, "Please go beyond political calculations of gains and losses. You must think about the people's suffering, not the 'impeachment trauma.'"
He also addressed the ruling party, saying, "I earnestly ask, for whom are you in that position? The people, or power?" He urged, "The entire nation and the world are watching us. Please make a choice you are not ashamed of in your conscience. Think about how the people and history will remember your name."
Spokesperson Cho warned, "Do not write a history of treason with the hands entrusted with the sovereignty of the people. Listen to the voices of the people and the voice of conscience," adding, "The authority given by the people is for the people. The moment you ignore the responsibility entrusted by the people, the people and history will remember you as cowardly accomplices."
