On the 6th, Dong-gu, Gwangju City announced that it was selected as the best institution nationwide in the 2024 Regional Statistics Excellence Case Contest held weekly by the Statistics Korea.

Dong-gu received high praise for its resource circulation platform ‘Donggura-mi On,’ through which residents directly solved alleyway garbage problems and published the results as the ‘Resource Circulation Pilot Village Report,’ presenting a new direction.

Additionally, the big data-based ‘Garbage Truck Arrival Information Service’ was also recognized for contributing to helping residents with resource circulation in their daily lives.

Im Taek, the district mayor, said, “This is the result of efforts to efficiently solve garbage problems in the region based on data together with residents,” and added, “We will continue to implement various policies to provide convenient services to residents.”
