The Democratic Party endorses party stance against Yoon's impeachment... Will not attend the plenary session on the 5th

On the 4th, the People Power Party decided as a party line to oppose the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol, which is being promoted by six opposition parties including the Democratic Party of Korea, the Jo Guk Innovation Party, the Reform New Party, the Progressive Party, the Basic Income Party, and the Social Democratic Party.

Kwok Kyu-taek, the chief spokesperson of the People Power Party, told reporters after an emergency closed-door meeting of lawmakers at the National Assembly that night, "It has been decided that we cannot accept the impeachment motion against President Yoon."

The People Power Party also decided to abstain from attending the plenary session of the National Assembly at 12:10 a.m. on the 5th, where the impeachment motion against President Yoon will be reported. The vote is scheduled to take place within 72 hours after 24 hours from the plenary session report.

Although they requested President Yoon to leave the party through the Prime Minister's Office, they drew a line at impeachment. Earlier, before attending the emergency lawmakers' meeting held at the National Assembly that day, when Representative Han was asked by reporters how he felt about the president saying that the declaration of martial law was only a warning, he replied, "Martial law cannot be just a warning; can martial law be used like that?"

When asked whether they requested President Yoon to leave the party, he mentioned, "The decision that we must request him to leave the party was made at the Supreme Council, and I conveyed this to the Prime Minister and the Chief of Staff during a meeting at the Prime Minister's Office."

When asked again, "Did you request President Yoon to leave the party?" he answered, "The decision to request him to leave the party was made at the Supreme Council meeting and was also mentioned at the lawmakers' meeting," adding, "I conveyed it during the meeting at the Prime Minister's Office."
