Dong-A University Department of Economics Scholarships Pour In... at the 'Economic Persons Day' Event

11 Students Receive 22 Million Won in Cheonghak, Seonjae, and Gwangsan Scholarships

77th Anniversary Talk Show with Professors and Contest Award Ceremony

The Department of Economics at Dong-A University (Department Head Jeong Seong-mun) held the ‘Economists’ Day’ event celebrating the department’s 77th anniversary and awarded scholarships from the Cheonghak Scholarship Foundation, Seonjae Scholarship Foundation, and Gwangsan Scholarship Foundation.

The recent event held at Kim Gwan-eum Hall on Dong-A University’s Bumin Campus was attended by Department Head Jeong Seong-mun, economics professors, guests including Cheonghak Scholarship Foundation representatives Seong Se-yeon and Seong Won-il, current students, and alumni.

At the event, five students from the Department of Economics?Kim Seung-hyun, Jin Ye-hyun, Lee Yoo-jung, Hwang Ji-hwan, and Jo Eun-young?each received 2 million KRW, totaling 10 million KRW, as the ‘Cheonghak Scholarship.’ Four students?Jeong Seong-beom, Jang Yu-na, Bang Jae-min, and Choi Seo-yeon?each received 2.5 million KRW, totaling 10 million KRW, as the ‘Seonjae Scholarship,’ and two students?I Si-hoon and Jo Jae-wook?each received 1 million KRW, totaling 2 million KRW, as the ‘Gwangsan Scholarship.’

A representative of the scholarship foundations stated, “We hope to continue contributing by donating assets so that more students can achieve their grand dreams with the support of the scholarship foundations,” and added, “We wish for the continued prosperity of Dong-A University and the Department of Economics.”

The scholarship recipients said, “Being selected as scholarship students gives us pride and confidence, and we will strive diligently,” and added, “We will not betray the expectations and trust given to us and will grow into outstanding talents.”

Department Head Jeong Seong-mun said, “Everyone here today has become a family through the Department of Economics, sharing knowledge and experience while growing together,” and expressed deep gratitude to the Cheonghak Scholarship Foundation, Seonjae Scholarship Foundation, and Gwangsan Scholarship Foundation for their significant support in the development of the Department of Economics.

In addition to the scholarship award ceremony, the event featured a screening of a video commemorating the 77th anniversary of the Department of Economics, a contest viewing and awards ceremony, and a talk show with professors.

The Department of Economics at Dong-A University aims to be ‘the most competitive economics department in the Yeongnam region’ by developing specialized curriculum models tailored to career fields in business categories such as finance, industry, labor, and public sectors, as well as regional categories including East Asia, Europe, and the United States, while supporting students in obtaining relevant certifications.
