Earlier, the citizen participation group held an inauguration ceremony on October 21, received education about the living lab, and toured the Hwaseong City Smart City Integrated Operation Center. Then, at the first workshop on the 4th of last month, three groups were formed around the themes of crime prevention safety, living environment, and transportation to identify local issues. The crime prevention safety group recognized concerns about crime occurrence in residential areas, the living environment group identified widespread garbage problems in industrial complex areas, and the transportation group recognized the inconvenience of pedestrian waiting times at crosswalk signals.
At the second workshop on the 11th of the same month, they directly inspected the sites based on local issues and identified available resources. Then, at the third workshop on the 18th, the citizen participation group summarized the results of the workshops so far and applied the necessary technological resources to derive solutions as smart city services.
Jo Nam-cheol, head of the Smart City Division of Hwaseong City, said, "The projects proposed in the smart living lab will be reviewed in detail and discussed for improvements, and ways to utilize them for the city's development will be sought."
Meanwhile, Hwaseong City concluded this year's smart city living labs for fishing villages, farming villages, and urban areas with this urban area smart living lab. The city plans to develop the proposed smart city projects into various demonstration projects such as public contests.
