"Jeong Jun-ha, who claimed '400 million won monthly sales at sashimi restaurant'... 3.6 billion won Gangnam apartment went to auction"

Opinion Emerges That Repayment Possibility Exists

Comedian and restaurant entrepreneur Jung Joon-ha's house in Samseong-dong has been put up for auction.

According to the real estate industry on the 2nd, the Seoul Central District Court decided to commence a compulsory auction in July for the 152.98㎡ property in Gangnam-gu, Samseong-dong, Jung Joon-ha's Central Heights Village.

The first sale date is scheduled for the 10th of this month. The auction will proceed only for half of Jung Joon-ha's share of the entire house, which is 36.38㎡ (11 pyeong). The appraised value is known to be 1.795 billion KRW. A property of the same size was reportedly traded for 3.65 billion KRW last August.

The property was acquired in 2005 by Jung Joon-ha and his father, each holding half of the shares. The creditor is the liquor distribution company Tae Kyung Co., Ltd. They filed for auction claiming non-payment of 232.93812 million KRW. However, considering it is a share auction, there is an opinion that repayment might be possible in the meantime.

Meanwhile, Jung Joon-ha recently appeared on a YouTube broadcast and said, "I think running a business is better than doing a few broadcasts." He added, "One of the stores I operate is closing after 8 years," and said, "We have been incurring losses since COVID-19." He also stated, "On weekdays, sales are about 10 million KRW, and on weekends, sales range from 15 to 20 million KRW. Monthly sales are about 400 million KRW." However, he mentioned that with more than 20 employees and part-timers, labor costs amount to 45 million KRW per month. He also said, "The cost of fish has risen by 80%, so even if we sell a lot, the profit is not much," and added, "The remaining money has to cover the deficit of the Apgujeong skewer restaurant, so it’s all for nothing."
