Gwangju Bank (President Ko Byung-il) announced on the 30th that it will operate the 'Midwinter Shelter' at all 123 branches in the Gwangju, Jeonnam, and metropolitan areas until February 28 next year.

With volatile 'rollercoaster weather' expected this winter, including sudden cold waves and heavy snowfall, Gwangju Bank plans to provide a space where local residents can briefly escape the cold wind along with free hot packs.

Gwangju Bank first launched the 'Summer Shelter,' offering bottled water and fans at branches in Gwangju, Jeonnam, and the metropolitan area in 2018, the first among banks, and has continued to operate the Midwinter Shelter, receiving favorable reviews for providing season-specific services to local residents.

In particular, the service is available not only to bank branch customers but also conveniently to all local residents, spreading warmth throughout the community.

Park Seong-sook, Head of Sales Planning, said, "The Midwinter Shelter is available to anyone during branch operating hours," adding, "We will continue to strive to help local residents spend the winter in better health."
