[Profile] Lee Young-jun Appointed President and CEO of Lotte Chemical Group

Lotte Group is replacing the head of its chemical division to accelerate the transformation of its chemical business portfolio.

On the 28th, Lotte Group announced that in the 2025 regular executive personnel reshuffle, Lee Young-jun, Vice President and CEO of Lotte Chemical Advanced Materials, will be promoted to President and take on the role of Head of Lotte's Chemical Division.

President Lee is an expert in the fields of chemistry and materials, and is regarded as the person who will fundamentally secure a competitive advantage across Lotte's chemical division by transforming the business and organizational structure.

After joining Samsung General Chemicals in 1991, President Lee served as Head of the Chemical Research Institute at Cheil Industries and Head of the PC Business Division at Samsung SDI before joining Lotte Group in 2016. He has been recognized for his achievements by strengthening the product portfolio towards high value-added products and continuously expanding key clients while efficiently responding to declining sales volume and spreads as CEO of Lotte Chemical Advanced Materials and Head of the PC Business Division.

President Lee will concurrently serve as CEO of Lotte Chemical Basic Materials and lead the swift transition of the basic chemical-centered business to a high value-added specialty-centered business structure.

Meanwhile, Lee Hoon-ki, who led Lotte's chemical division, will retire from frontline duties. It is reported that he expressed his intention to step down, taking responsibility for some mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and investments pursued during his tenure as Head of Management Innovation at Lotte Holdings, as well as the poor performance of the chemical division.
