Seoul National University of Science and Technology Ranks 1st Among National Universities and 20th Overall in the 2024 JoongAng Ilbo University Evaluation

Seoul National University of Science and Technology announced on the 28th that it ranked 20th overall and tied for 1st place among national universities in the '2024 JoongAng Ilbo University Evaluation.'

This university evaluation was conducted on 54 universities based on 38 indicators across four categories: faculty research, educational environment, student outcomes, and reputation.

SeoulTech ranked 1st among national universities and 18th overall in the student education and outcomes category. In particular, it secured 1st place among national universities in pure employment rate and number of startup companies, and 2nd place in dropout rate, startup support funding, and field training participation rate, demonstrating a practical educational environment.

In the evaluation of science and engineering fields, SeoulTech ranked 1st in the category of 'engineering universities that created the most international standards,' recognizing its excellence in research and education. Adoption as an international standard is used as evidence of the international influence and practicality of research.

In the faculty research category, SeoulTech ranked 15th in citations per international journal paper and 16th in industry-academia cooperation revenue per science and technology faculty member. Accordingly, SeoulTech plans to actively operate and expand various research encouragement programs to further enhance its international research achievements.

Additionally, it ranked 4th as the 'university expected to develop further' selected by high school teachers, and 9th as the 'most desired Korean university to attend' chosen by international students in Korea.

Sung Wook-jun, Director of Planning at SeoulTech, stated, "As the only national comprehensive university in Seoul, we will redefine the university’s role and direction by reflecting the realities faced by universities and students and the future they aspire to." He added, "We will also fulfill our responsibilities by strengthening internationalization strategies."
