Paramedics from the Changwon Fire Headquarters in Gyeongnam demonstrated outstanding performance at the ‘2024 Asia-Pacific EMS Mass Casualty Incident Simulation Challenge’ held in Seoul on the 26th, receiving the Best Excellence Award.
This competition was hosted by the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine and organized by the Asia-Pacific Conference on Disaster Medicine (APCDM) organizing committee to compare and share the response capabilities of paramedics from various countries in disaster situations involving mass casualties.
With participation from four countries including Korea, the paramedics from Changwon Fire Headquarters represented South Korea based on their achievement of first place in the 37th Emergency Medical Skills Competition.
At the competition, Changwon Fire Headquarters showcased excellent emergency medical skills and rapid on-site response capabilities, earning high scores. In particular, their emergency treatment using various medical equipment and systematic on-site response received high praise from the judges.
Kim Yong-jin, Chief of Changwon Fire Headquarters, stated, “We are proud that our paramedics from Changwon Fire Headquarters have demonstrated outstanding capabilities on the international stage. We will continue to strengthen the professionalism of our paramedics and do our best to protect the lives and safety of our citizens.”
