Grand Korea Leisure (GKL), which operates the foreigner-only casino 'Seven Luck,' has appointed former People Power Party lawmaker Yoon Doo-hyun as its new president.
On the 25th, GKL held a shareholders' meeting and finalized Yoon as the final candidate. Previously, GKL had selected three final candidates for president: former KOTRA president Park Kang-seop, former GKL vice president Lee Jae-kyung, and former lawmaker Yoon.
The new president of GKL will be appointed by the president following a recommendation from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the competent authority, in accordance with the Public Institution Management Act.
Yoon is a former journalist who worked for Seoul Shinmun and YTN, served as a member of the 21st National Assembly, and was the senior secretary for public relations at the Presidential Secretariat from 2014 to 2015. His term is three years from the date of appointment.
