Among this year’s recipients were national veteran Chu Yeon-hee, who became paraplegic due to a fall accident during military service in 2008, and Fire Lieutenant Noh Seok-hoon, who lost his left hand after being electrocuted by a high-voltage wire during firefighting duties in 2015; they received a robotic prosthetic leg and robotic prosthetic arm, respectively.

This project is a representative contribution initiative that the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation has been promoting since signing an agreement with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs in 2020 to provide practical support for their independence.

Jang In-hwa, Chairman of the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation, said, “We hope that the advanced assistive devices, prepared with the gratitude and sincerity of POSCO Group employees, will offer some help and comfort to the national veterans who have devoted themselves to the country.”

Kang Jung-ae, Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, expressed gratitude, saying, “We thank the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation for supporting national veterans with advanced assistive devices every year,” and added, “The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will do its best to establish a culture of respect and honor for those who have dedicated themselves to the nation.”
