This special lecture was part of the "Self-Development Literacy Course," which conducts 12 lectures annually to enhance the job competency of Goyang Special City public officials. This year, the city has been promoting various job training topics such as generative AI, report writing, individual roles within the organization, and speech skill enhancement.
In this lecture, Administrative Officer Kim Seon-tae introduced Chungju City's unique promotional strategies on YouTube, which has 760,000 subscribers, along with various cases, drawing enthusiastic responses from participants.
He especially emphasized, "For successful promotion, the goal should be 'viral marketing' (marketing through word of mouth), and it must become content that the audience wants to see through distinctive and consistent branding and breaking stereotypes."
He also suggested that "to achieve goals, a mindset that tolerates failure and sometimes the courage to be disliked are necessary," implying that reverse thinking and innovative ideas can transform an organization.
Goyang city officials who participated in the training shared various feedback through a survey, such as "Practical advice based on experience from the perspective of practitioners was helpful," and "It was a beneficial lecture where I learned promotional techniques that break the existing mold."
