HD Hyundai Samho Contributes to Improving Energy Efficiency in South Korea

Yoon Cheol-han Receives Prime Minister's Commendation at the Korea Energy Awards

HD Hyundai Samho (CEO President Kim Jae-eul) executives and employees have been recognized by the government for their contributions to improving energy efficiency and advancing the renewable energy industry in South Korea.

On the 19th, according to HD Hyundai Samho, Manager Yoon Cheol-han received the Prime Minister’s Commendation in the “Energy Efficiency Improvement” category at the ‘2024 Korea Energy Awards’ ceremony.

This achievement is the result of 16 years of efforts at HD Hyundai Samho in establishing an energy management system, formulating a carbon-neutral roadmap, implementing K-EV100, introducing high-efficiency equipment, and improving operational methods, which have led to tangible results in energy savings and carbon emission reductions.

Manager Yoon Cheol-han stated, “As an executive, I will do my best to improve energy efficiency for the sustainable development of the shipbuilding industry and compliance with international environmental regulations,” emphasizing that “energy management and efficiency improvement are not options but necessities.”

The ‘Korea Energy Awards’ are given to individuals and organizations who have contributed to energy efficiency improvement, renewable energy industry development, and hydrogen economy activation through energy saving, technology development, policy promotion, and education. In particular, the energy efficiency improvement category awards those who have contributed to enhancing energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption to achieve carbon neutrality.

This award recognizing HD Hyundai Samho’s contributions has become an important foundation for the development of the domestic energy industry and the sustainable use of energy.
