Public Outrage Over Couple's Story Visiting Self Studio
A couple who visited a self-studio sparked controversy after leaving a low rating for the business, claiming the staff did not soothe their crying baby.
The author, Mr. A, posted on June 17th in the self-employed community 'Apeunikka Sajangida' ("Because It Hurts, I'm a Boss") that the incident happened at a studio run by an acquaintance, sharing a screenshot of the customer's review.
In the revealed review, the customer complained, "This is the worst. How unfriendly they are. It's so different from a year ago," and added, "We went with a baby, and when it was hard, couldn't they help a little? They didn't even ask if something was bothering the baby while the baby was crying."
Mr. A responded to the review, stating, "A mother, father, and a girl around 3 to 5 years old came together, and during the self-shoot, the child cried saying 'I don't want to take pictures,' and from then on, they showed all kinds of irritation toward the staff." He continued, "The staff couldn't hear anything because they were busy responding to other customers and the music coming from outside."
Mr. A added, "After the shoot, the child's mother left in a bad mood. We delivered the photos to the husband and even provided a service for a revisit," and criticized, "They blamed the store for a child they couldn't control themselves." He further said, "It's surprising that such inconsiderate people still exist," and "It seems true that when business is bad, there are more troublemakers."
Netizens who read the story expressed various reactions such as, "I've never seen anyone act like that at a self-photo studio where the staff don't even take the pictures," "It's a self-studio, so it would be nice if they helped, but complaining about not helping is unreasonable. They booked a self-studio to save money, yet they're being difficult," and "It's ridiculous to talk about unfriendliness in a self-shoot."
Meanwhile, this is not the first time some consumers have made unreasonable demands to self-employed business owners and then launched review attacks. Last month, a delivery customer ordered a pork cutlet set meal priced at 9,900 won and wrote in the request, "If the batter is not 1 cm thick, I won't eat it. Since my child will eat it too, add one more piece of meat with some sense. I'm a power blogger. Promise 5 stars. If not, I'll give a 1-star attack," causing controversy. Also, in June, a store owner was threatened by a customer who said they would launch a star rating attack if they did not receive three free dishes for their children.
