Over 400 Volunteers Participate in Housing Environment Improvement Work
Mayor Jeong Inhwa and Gwangyang Steelworks Director Lee Dongryeol Also Join
Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Lee Dong-ryeol) announced on the 18th that it conducted a joint volunteer activity on the 16th in Sinsi Village and Seomgeo Village in Jinsang-myeon, Gwangyang City.
Gwangyang Steelworks carries out regular joint volunteer activities every year to practice POSCO's unique value of 'service and sharing' and to walk together with the local community.

The joint volunteer activity involves a talent volunteer group formed by Gwangyang Steelworks employees who aim to create a better world by utilizing their own talents, and it has received great support from local residents as it significantly transforms the villages where the volunteer activities take place.
More than 400 volunteers, including over 35 talent volunteer groups from Gwangyang Steelworks and employees from the Production Technology Department of Gwangyang Steelworks, which has a sisterhood relationship with Seomgeo Village and Sinsi Village, rolled up their sleeves for this activity. Mayor Jeong In-hwa of Gwangyang and Director Lee Dong-ryeol of Gwangyang Steelworks also participated.
During this volunteer activity, the 119 Disaster Prevention, Electrical Repair, Agricultural Machinery Repair, Dustproof Net, and Wallpaper Talent Volunteer Groups visited each household to lead improvements in living environments, such as inspecting electrical facilities, painting and repairing gates, and installing fire detectors.
Additionally, the Mural, Care and Watch, Science and Technology, and Green Talent Volunteer Groups, along with employees from the Production Technology Department, engaged in creating beautiful villages by installing village signboards, painting murals, conducting disinfection, and planting trees.
The various medical and cultural volunteer activities held at the Jinsang-myeon Welfare Center also received great responses from residents. The Medical, Acoustic Guitar, Foot Massage, First Aid, Nail Art, and Photography Talent Volunteer Groups provided various services to residents, adding vitality to the joint volunteer activities.
One resident said, "Thanks to the Gwangyang Steelworks joint volunteer group, I feel that we can spend this winter comfortably," and expressed gratitude to the volunteers who made our village a better place to live by inspecting electrical facilities throughout the house and beautifying the village exterior.
Director Lee Dong-ryeol of Gwangyang Steelworks emphasized, "The joint volunteer activity is even more meaningful as the volunteers gather in one place to practice the value of walking together," and added, "We will continue to strive to be Gwangyang Steelworks that works with local neighbors by carrying out various social contribution projects and volunteer activities."
