Daejeon City Offers Additional 1 Million Won Subsidy for Electric Vehicle Purchases

Regional Discount Program for Electric Vehicles Launched... Applications Accepted Until December 6

Daejeon City announced the implementation of a regional discount program, providing an additional 1 million won in support to expand the supply of electric vehicles.

Under the regional discount program, when a Daejeon citizen purchases an electric vehicle, the manufacturer or importer offers a 500,000 won discount, and Daejeon City provides an additional 500,000 won subsidy.

The program currently includes Hyundai Motor Company (32 passenger models, 5 cargo models), KG Mobility (2 passenger models, 2 cargo models), and Mobility Networks (1 cargo model).

With the regional discount included, electric passenger cars can receive up to 11.46 million won in support, and electric cargo vehicles up to 20.77 million won.

Eligible applicants are citizens, individual business owners, and corporations who have resided in Daejeon City for at least 90 consecutive days as of the application date.

The application deadline is December 6. To apply, buyers must fill out an application form at the dealership and submit it to the manufacturer or importer when purchasing the vehicle.

Jung Jaehyung, head of Daejeon City's Air Quality Division, said, "We hope for the active interest and participation of citizens in the regional discount program, which helps improve air quality."
