Boryeong City, Chungnam Province, announced on the 18th that it has installed 156 CCTV cameras at 105 locations within the city this year, investing a total of 1.254 billion KRW.
The main initiatives include: △ Installation of one CCTV per village at 7 locations △ Installation of security CCTV at 32 locations △ CCTV on hiking trails at 3 locations △ Coastal safety CCTV at 3 locations △ Establishment of real-time safety accident detection systems at Daecheon Port and Ocheon Port at 3 locations △ Improvement of emergency bell visibility at 20 locations, among others.
To enhance the safety of women and children, the city installed security CCTV cameras on 12 women’s safe return routes, creating an environment where citizens can return home with peace of mind.
Notably, in 10 crime-prone areas, CCTV cameras based on Pre-CAS (Crime Analysis System) have been installed, aiming to prevent crime more efficiently and proactively through artificial intelligence (AI) video analysis.
Additionally, to respond to ship fires at Daecheon Port and Ocheon Port, a real-time safety accident detection system equipped with thermal imaging cameras and intelligent video analysis has been established.
Mayor Kim Dongil stated, “The CCTV cameras installed in Boryeong City play a crucial role in preventing crime and solving incidents,” and added, “We will continue to strive to build optimal safety infrastructure to create a city where citizens can feel safe.”
