Gyeongbuk Province and the Gyeongbuk Cultural Tourism Organization (President Kim Nam-il) announced on the 17th that they conducted a fam tour to develop tourism products in the northern Gyeongbuk region (Mungyeong, Yeongju) by inviting about 10 travel agencies from Taiwan.
This fam tour was held for four days from the 13th to the 16th, with the cooperation of Gyeongbuk Province, the Gyeongbuk Cultural Tourism Organization, Mungyeong City, Yeongju City, and the Korea Tourism Organization.
Employees from the Taiwanese travel industry on a fam tour of the Yeongju and Mungyeong areas are taking a commemorative photo in front of the suspension bridge.
On the 13th and 14th, Taiwanese travel industry officials visited Mungyeong’s filming site of "Queen of Tears," Mungyeong Saejae Provincial Park, and Bongmyeongsan Suspension Bridge. On the 15th and 16th, they visited Yeongju, where they experienced Makgeolli brewing, Seonbi World, and Seonbi Village, and also visited the UNESCO World Heritage sites Buseoksa Temple and Sosu Seowon, as well as Yongcheonru Suspension Bridge.
This fam tour was composed of experience-centered tourism products preferred by Taiwanese tourists, allowing participants to directly experience tourist attractions and feel the charm of the northern Gyeongbuk region (Mungyeong, Yeongju) firsthand.
The Gyeongbuk Cultural Tourism Organization expects that this fam tour will diversify tourism products within Gyeongbuk and further contribute to the development of local communities.
President Kim Nam-il said, “I hope this fam tour provided Taiwanese travel agency officials with an opportunity to feel the charm of the northern Gyeongbuk region,” adding, “We will continue to develop new travel products that target the preferences of Taiwanese tourists to promote Gyeongbuk and work to revitalize the northern Gyeongbuk region.”
