Park Sugi, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council (Democratic Party, Gwangsan 5), pointed out on the 14th during the administrative audit that the inconvenience to citizens caused by the 'albakgi' parking of camping cars in Gwangju's public parking lots has not been resolved.

As a result of analyzing the audit materials from Gwangju, Councilor Park found that although the Parking Lot Act was amended in July to provide legal grounds such as relocation orders for long-term abandoned vehicles, there have been no reported on-site crackdowns, and specific measures to solve the 'albakgi' parking problem of camping cars are insufficient.

Councilor Park stated, "Despite the amendment of the Parking Lot Act, the camping car 'albakgi' problem has not improved at all, and citizen inconveniences such as lack of parking spaces, deterioration of urban aesthetics, and accident risks continue."

He continued, "A joint and thorough crackdown inspection by autonomous districts is necessary to grasp the actual situation of long-term abandoned vehicles in Gwangju's public parking lots. Especially, since the issue of long-term camping car parking is serious mainly in free public parking lots, effective measures should be prepared based on accurate data analysis such as the number of registered camping cars and the status of securing garages."

Councilor Park also added, "Efficient management and operation of public parking lots is an issue that improves citizens' daily lives and is an important policy that can provide a sense of efficacy in local autonomy. In line with the amendment of the Parking Lot Act, parking lot management ordinances and policies suitable for local conditions should be improved to resolve citizen inconveniences and create an efficient parking environment."
