Miryang City to Expand Support for Basic Livelihood Security Recipients Next Year

Significant Increase in Welfare Benefits Due to Mid-Income Rise in 2025
Standards

Miryang City in Gyeongnam announced on the 15th that the number of basic livelihood security recipients is expected to increase due to the rise in the median income and livelihood benefits as of 2025.

The median income standard is the midpoint of national household income and is used as a criterion for selecting welfare projects. The Ministry of Health and Welfare raised the 2025 median income by a record-high 6.42% (based on a four-person household).

Accordingly, the monthly livelihood benefit in 2025 will increase by 52,000 KRW for a single-person household and 117,000 KRW for a four-person household, which is expected to greatly help eliminate welfare blind spots and improve the living conditions of low-income groups.

Miryang City plans to actively promote the changes in the National Basic Livelihood Security System in 2025 through the city’s official website, SNS, posters, and more, so that more citizens can enjoy welfare benefits. Counseling, application, and reception support will be provided at the Eup, Myeon, and Dong administrative welfare centers.

Mayor Ahn Byung-gu said, “We will actively inform the public about the increase in the livelihood benefit support standard and strive to discover welfare blind spots to implement a thorough and warm welfare policy.”
