Nonsan Mayor Baek Seonghyeon stated on the 13th, "Over the past two years and four months, creative and innovative administration has brought about many changes in Nonsan."

During a conversation with citizens held at the National Sports Center that day, Mayor Baek said, "This is the result of relentless efforts for the citizens and a sense of immense responsibility to transform Nonsan into a city of revival, not extinction, through change and development."

He continued, "There is growing international interest in Nonsan," and explained, "We have succeeded in enhancing the value of Nonsan's agriculture with groundbreaking strategies such as attracting the National Defense Future Technology Research Center, designating the Nonsan National Defense Industrial Complex as an Opportunity Development Zone, and implementing the three agricultural income principles."

He added, "Nonsan is raising its value as the mecca of Korea's advanced national defense and fisheries industries, strong agriculture, and prosperous rural communities. Based on the national defense and logistics industry, we will create local food and living opportunities, generate quality jobs, and attract young people to overcome the crisis of population decline."

He further stated, "It is the leader's role and responsibility to present the citizens with a hopeful Nonsan where tomorrow is even more anticipated," and added, "I will create a new Nonsan?one of change and innovation?through generous investment in the future so that living in Nonsan is worthwhile and citizens can feel pride and happiness."

Meanwhile, at the event, citizens showed interest in the benefits of the Opportunity Development Zone designation, follow-up actions after the agreement to establish the National Defense Future Research Center, policies for attracting and supporting businesses, the Ganggyeong Jeotgal Kimchi Festival, plans for the Gwangseok-myeon Smart Livestock and Pig Farming Complex, and the financial status of Nonsan City.
