Broadcaster Kim Byung-man has been embroiled in allegations of assaulting his ex-wife, and a YouTuber has commented on the incident.

On the 12th, Lee Jin-ho, a former entertainment reporter and YouTuber, uploaded a video titled "Did he take out as many as 15 death insurance policies? The truth battle with Kim Byung-man's ex-wife" on his YouTube channel 'Entertainment Vice President.' In the video, he began by saying, "Kim Byung-man, who was enjoying great popularity through KBS2's 'Gag Concert - Master' and SBS's 'Law of the Jungle,' married a woman seven years his senior, who was on her third marriage, which was a big topic at the time." He continued, "The divorce between the two was first revealed to the media in November last year, but the actual divorce date was in 2020," adding, "Their marriage lasted only about nine years."

Lee Jin-ho explained, "When Kim Byung-man and his ex-wife A got married, A's daughter was registered in Kim Byung-man's family register, and Kim Byung-man's side claims that A demanded 3 billion won in exchange for giving up parental rights." He added, "Upon investigation, there were inconsistencies in this claim. A never demanded 3 billion won, but since A managed the family's finances, a significant portion of the assets was under A's name." He further elaborated, "During the divorce process, Kim Byung-man received a property settlement from A amounting to as much as 2 billion won. It was said that there was a record of A transferring about 700 million won during the marriage. The large sum of 3 billion won was created by combining the 2 billion won property settlement Kim Byung-man was to receive, the 700 million won transferred by A, and the interest on that amount. Based on this situation, the claim that '3 billion won was demanded as a price for giving up parental rights' arose."

Additionally, Lee Jin-ho stated, "It is true that nearly 20 insurance policies were taken out in Kim Byung-man's name, but it is difficult to say they were all life insurance, i.e., death insurance." He claimed, "The total number of insurance policies, including those Kim Byung-man had before marriage, reached several dozen. It is true that he had more insurance policies than usual. However, it was about 10 policies, not dozens, and only some of them were death insurance." He concluded, "This controversy, which started with the ex-wife's revelations, has sharply conflicting claims from both sides," adding, "Ultimately, it is a battle of evidence."
