Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province, delivered plaques and designation certificates to newly selected public-type daycare centers on the 6th.
This year, a total of 16 daycare centers were newly selected as public-type daycare centers in Gyeongnam Province. Among them, Yangsan City selected a total of 6 daycare centers: 2 home daycare centers (Byeolnara Daycare Center, Sarangsaem Daycare Center) and 4 private daycare centers (Bando Fun Kids, iSchool, Easy Aram, Haneul Donghwa).
With this designation, Yangsan City will operate a total of 19 public-type daycare centers.
Public-type daycare centers are a system where the city recommends excellent daycare centers that do not receive government rice support, and the governor makes the final selection to provide operating expenses and apply strengthened operating standards to offer high-quality childcare to infants and toddlers.
To be selected as a public-type daycare center, various indicators must be met, including enrollment rate, operation of vulnerable services, level of payment for homeroom teachers' salaries, and the ratio of long-term and first-grade childcare teachers. After selection, operating expenses are supported, and the Korea Childcare Promotion Institute conducts consulting, financial accounting education, and training for directors and teachers to manage the quality of public-type daycare centers.
A Yangsan City official said, “Through the newly designated public-type daycare centers, we will provide improved childcare services and strengthen childcare quality management to function as a more excellent private childcare infrastructure.”
