The Hot Rolling Department at Gwangyang Steelworks regularly conducts the Seomjingang Bicycle Path Guardians Activity every month, collecting floating debris and cleaning the environment along the Seomjingang riverside. The Seomjingang Bicycle Path is a popular area visited by numerous tourists due to the nearby Seomjingang Rest Area and express bus transfer terminal.

Considering the frequent safety accidents caused by kudzu vines on the bicycle path, the Hot Rolling Department regularly removes the kudzu vines to help riders use the bicycle path more safely, while also taking the lead in preserving the beautiful natural environment and ecosystem of the Seomjingang riverside.

The Hot Rolling Department operates the Four-Leaf Clover Volunteer Group and the Water Mist Volunteer Group, composed of employees from each factory, and continuously engages in sharing activities with the local community.

The volunteer groups of the Hot Rolling Department practice a culture of sharing in various ways, delivering warm impressions to neighbors through regular environmental cleanup activities in the sister villages Seonyu Village and Daeji Village, as well as ▲painting at daycare centers ▲repairing dustproof nets at the Disabled Independence Center ▲bathing services for the elderly ▲participation in joint volunteer activities with Gwangyang City.

Moon Byung-du, head of the Hot Rolling Department at Gwangyang Steelworks who participated in the bicycle path guardians activity that day, said, “As a member of the local community, I feel a responsibility for coexistence and will continue to participate in sharing activities to create a better society.”
