‘Osiria Tourism Complex Road Expansion and Sewage Facility Maintenance Construction’ On-site Safety Training
Strengthening Practical Safety Management Skills through VR Virtual Reality Safety Training Content
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) conducted safety training using virtual reality (VR) content for workers at the ‘Osiria Tourism Complex Road Expansion and Sewage Facility Maintenance Construction’ site on the 30th of last month.
This training was carried out utilizing the ‘Visiting Construction Site VR Training Program’ by the Korea Land Safety Management Institute.
Attended by site workers and safety officers, the training included experiences of accident cases frequently occurring at construction sites, such as fall hazards during high-altitude work, equipment collisions, and being trapped under materials.
Workers directly experienced various hazardous situations they might encounter on site through virtual reality, raising awareness of industrial safety and improving on-site safety consciousness and accident response capabilities.
One participant said, “By directly experiencing various construction accident scenarios through virtual reality, which I had not encountered before, I realized once again the importance of safety,” adding, “It seems to be practically helpful at construction sites.”
Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, emphasized, “We will expand various safety education and training to strengthen accident prevention and safety management capabilities even at small and medium-sized construction sites.”
