Yangju City Holds Presentation of Project Proposals for 'Urban Regeneration University Youth Planning Group Basic Course' Yangju City held a project proposal presentation and completion ceremony for the "2024 Yangju City Urban Regeneration University Youth Planning Group Basic Course" on the 31st of last month, followed by a commemorative photo session.

Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 4th that it held the '2024 Yangju City Urban Regeneration University Youth Planning Group Basic Course' business plan presentation and completion ceremony on the 31st of last month at the Udang Hall of Kyungdong University Yangju Campus, attended by about 20 students and related personnel.

The 'Urban Regeneration University Youth Planning Group Basic Course,' operated under the theme of encouraging active participation of youth in urban regeneration projects and establishing a system for continuous activities in the local community, was conducted over six sessions starting from September 12. The course consisted of ▲Understanding urban regeneration projects ▲Discovering local issues and problem-solving ▲Selecting profit model items ▲Writing business plans.

Students from the Department of Public Administration at Kyungdong University, a cooperative university in the area, formed four teams, each responsible for urban regeneration and specialized project sites (Nammyeon, Nambang, Baekseok, Jangheung). They focused on creative project development for revitalizing the local economy, including regional analysis, discovering profit model items, and methods to link with urban regeneration projects.

At the presentation, the 'Nammyeon Gamak Gaenari-gol Team,' which introduced a business item using the 'Danggaenari fruit' from Yeongyo, and the 'Jangheung Obong Village Team,' which presented a specialized crop using a smart farm cube and an experience program utilizing local characters, were finally selected.

The two selected teams will subsequently promote projects directly in their respective areas based on the business plans developed through the advanced course of the Youth Planning Group.

At the completion ceremony that followed, certificates were awarded to 21 individuals who completed the Youth Planning Group Basic Course.

A city official stated, "The entire process of incorporating the passion and brilliant ideas of young people into urban regeneration projects through this training course is the most meaningful," and added, "We ask for active participation and interest in the upcoming advanced course of the Youth Planning Group."

Meanwhile, Yangju City has been operating the 'Urban Regeneration University' since 2018 to promote urban regeneration projects led by local residents.
