On the 30th, Yangsan City in Gyeongnam held the '3rd Yangsan Citizen Garden School Graduation Ceremony' at the Future Design Convergence Center within the Design Park, producing 28 citizen gardeners.
The Citizen Garden School is a free course aimed at nurturing citizen gardeners. From May 1 to October 30, it consisted of a total of 20 lectures, held once a week for 4 hours each, combining theory and practice for a total of 80 hours. A team of expert instructors in the gardening field conducted classes covering various topics such as understanding garden plants, plant management, garden design, and a field trip to Taehwagang National Garden.
Based on the lessons they received, the trainees designed and planned a garden themselves, creating a graduation project near the waterfall in Design Park. The garden expressed the meaning of life viewed through the changes of the seasons, themed around the passage of time.
A Yangsan City official stated, "This educational program will serve as an opportunity for participants to grow into competent garden experts," and added, "We hope that through the voluntary participation of citizens, the city's green culture will become established in everyday life."
