489 Billion Won Invested in Construction of School Complex Facilities and Ecological Park
A school complex facility will be built at Cheonan Jeil High School in South Chungcheong Province by 2028.
The Cheonan City Government and the Cheonan Office of Education announced on the 30th that the Cheonan Jeil High School complex facility project has conditionally passed the joint investment review by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
Accordingly, by 2028, a school complex facility with a total floor area of 6,417 square meters will be constructed, consisting of one basement level and three above-ground floors, and a premium ecological park covering 13,045 square meters will be created.
The total project cost is expected to reach 48.9 billion won, including 12.1 billion won in national funds secured by being selected for a Ministry of Education public offering project last year.
The city and the Office of Education plan to reflect student safety measures, such as obtaining Barrier Free certification for a student-friendly environment without obstacles for students with special needs, in the administrative procedures and implementation design stages to ensure smooth progress of the project.
Cheonan Mayor Park Sangdon said, "We will create a healing park and a sports and cultural complex facility that represents the old downtown," adding, "We will provide citizens with a place for rest and relaxation, and students with a space to improve physical strength and learn about ecology."
