There is a famous saying, "Drive for show, putt for dough." Nico Echavarria (Colombia) proved this statement.

On the 27th, at the Zozo Championship (total prize money $8.5 million) held at Narashino Country Club in Inzai City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan (Par 70, 7,079 yards), he showcased his divine putting skills and secured a one-stroke victory (20-under 260). This was his second career win, coming 1 year and 7 months after his victory at the Puerto Rico Open last March. He earned $1.53 million (approximately 2.1 billion KRW) in prize money.
Echavarria is a second-year player who joined the PGA Tour last year. His world ranking was 292nd, far from a win in this tournament. However, after rising to the lead on the second day, he maintained his position at the top of the leaderboard for three consecutive days. His steady performance, consistently shooting in the 60s over four days, stood out.
The statistics were "ordinary." Over four days, his average driving distance was 285.50 yards (tied 59th), fairway hit rate was 61.54% (tied 18th), and greens in regulation was 73.61% (tied 22nd). However, his putting per hole when on the green was outstanding?1.55 putts, ranked 1st. Callaway’s Odyssey Tri-Hot #7 putter played the role of "winning assistant." Even amid fierce competition on the final day, he secured victory by making "stepping stone birdies" on holes 16 and 18.
