Multiple Contracts with Japanese Companies Including Fujitsu and Uniqlo
AI Edutech startup Riiid announced on the 28th that its Japan subsidiary's business-to-business (B2B) sales increased by 288% compared to the previous year.
Riiid stated that since establishing its local subsidiary in Japan in 2021, it has maintained solid performance. From January to September this year, the Japan subsidiary's B2B sales grew by 288%, signaling a green light for the expansion of its global B2B business. Total sales increased by 51% on an annual cumulative basis.
The growth in B2B sales was driven by a new contract with Fujitsu, a leading Japanese IT company, signed in June. Through an e-learning outsourcing contract, Riiid has achieved orders for 3,084 users to date. Additional orders are also planned for this year.
Additionally, Riiid has B2B contracts with numerous Japanese local companies, including global fashion brand UNIQLO, Soujitsu, Daifuku, Maruzen Pharmaceutical, and Teijin.
Moon Yongju, head of Riiid's Japan subsidiary, said, "Based on Riiid's technological capabilities and expertise, we are building strong partnerships with local companies and gradually expanding the proportion of B2B business in Japan. We expect to accelerate the expansion of global partnerships by using Japan as a strategic hub."
Riiid Japan subsidiary's business-to-consumer (B2C) sales from January to September recorded approximately 2.23 billion KRW, an increase of about 40% compared to the previous year.
Through the partnership with Japanese language education brand Aruku (ALC), signed last year, sales increased by securing high-quality TOEIC questions and opening 831 new ALC content items, improving service usability.
