Jangan-eup Resident Autonomy Committee Holds Completion Ceremony and Begins Full-Scale Promotion

The Jang-an-eup Administrative Welfare Center in Gijang-gun, Busan (Eupjang Park Kyung-hee) recently held a completion ceremony for the ‘Jang-an-eup Jwagwangcheon Riverside Ipap Tree Road Creation’ project, organized by the Jang-an-eup Residents’ Autonomy Committee (Chairman Kim Sung-gu), at Jwachon Village along the Jwagwangcheon Riverside in Jang-an-eup.

The completion ceremony held on the 24th was attended by Gijang-gun Governor Jeong Jong-bok, Gijang-gun Council Chairman Park Hong-bok and council members, members of the Jang-an-eup Residents’ Autonomy Committee, and related officials. The event included a project progress report, commemorative speeches, and a monument unveiling ceremony.

The ‘Jang-an-eup Jwagwangcheon Riverside Ipap Tree Road Creation’ project was promoted as a 2024 Gijang-gun Residents’ Autonomy-type Participatory Budget Project.

With the completion of this project, 82 Ipap trees were planted along the Jwagwangcheon Riverside, marking the first step toward establishing the Jwagwangcheon Riverside in Jang-an-eup as a famous Ipap Tree Road. In the future, Jang-an-eup plans to add 75 trees including Emerald Green and Moon Glow varieties, as well as 250 hydrangea plants to create flower beds along the Ipap Tree Road.

Kim Sung-gu, Chairman of the Jang-an-eup Residents’ Autonomy Committee, said, “The area along the Jwagwangcheon Riverside in Jang-an-eup has been transformed into a beautiful Ipap tree-lined street, improving the walking environment and contributing to the enhancement of residents’ welfare.”

Governor Jeong Jong-bok said, “The Ipap tree-lined street along the Jwagwangcheon Riverside in Jang-an-eup will become a representative attraction of Jang-an-eup and play an important role as a local tourism resource.”
